Thomas E. McElyea

Thomas E. McElyea was born in Knoxville, Tennesse in 1965 and moved to Texas in 1979 growing up in San Antonio. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree ( magna cum laude ) from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1987 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s School of Law in 1990. Mr. McElyea is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court and admitted to practice in all Courts of the State of Texas. He is also admitted to practice in The United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, The United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

After graduating law school in 1990, Mr. McElyea started his practice with a boutique civil defense firm in Dallas and worked there until 1999. At that time he was hired by a large firm also in Dallas where he practiced civil defense until 2001.  

The Law Office of Thomas E. McElyea, P.C. was founded in 2001 after Mr. McElyea decided to establish his own practice in Grapevine, Texas. In 2011, Mr. McElyea merged his practice with Benenati Law Firm, P.C.

Mr. McElyea concentrates his practice on business and commercial litigation as well as general civil litigation cases representing business owners and individuals in a wide variety of litigation matters.
